SAP HANA Overview - Introduction

SAP HANA

Both at Las Vegas and Berlin SAP Tech Ed’s were dominated by HANA. Interspersed with the brand-new launch of Net Weaver 7.3 and Business Objects 4.0, HANA was the main push at Berlin. HANA for High Performance Analytic Appliance takes SAP from BW Accelerator as an BW HANA for High Performance Analytic Appliance takes SAP from BW Accelerator as an BW performance appliance to HANA as a bigger operational appliance.

SAP HANA - The current version of HANA is designed as version-1.0 and will enable high performance, in memory processing from your SAP ECC system, and other disparate source systems. It is certain HANA will bring new frontiers in high performance analytical processing and new opportunities to SAP and their customers.

With the introduction of SAP HANA, what was once just a possibility now becomes a reality. This next generation of SAP’s in-memory technology provides a multi-purpose, in-memory appliance, giving organizations the power to gain instant insight into business operations while enabling them to react quickly to changing business conditions. SAP HANA lets business users immediately access, model and analyze all of their transactional and analytical data in real time – from virtually any data source – and in a single environment, without affecting existing applications or systems.
